Wit and wisdom, from all ages

An intergenerational storytelling night

General Admission. All ages are welcome, though please note some content may contain subject matter more suitable for mature audiences. Live sign language interpretation at every event.

Six storytellers.
Six generations.

Generation Women® creates space for intergenerational connection and community.

At our seasonal live show, six storytellers of note share an original, true story on a theme. Of those performers, one is in their 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s, and 70s+.

Generation Women blends a lively literary salon with the tradition of handing down wisdom from community elders. Join us around the matriarchal campfire for an intimate seasonal event that celebrates the hearts and minds of many. Alongside cis women, we cast all gender expressions including non-binary folk and trans women.

Plot Twist: When Life Flips the Script

Life rarely goes according to plan. Just when you think you’ve got it all figured out, life throws a curveball—a plot twist you never saw coming. In this event, we’re inviting our storytellers to share their tales of the unexpected.

Maybe it’s the surprise career change that led to a dream job, a relationship that took an unforeseen turn, or an adventure that went wildly off-script. From small, funny surprises to life-altering revelations, these moments force us to pivot, adapt, and grow. Some twists make us laugh, some make us cry, but they all remind us that life’s best moments often lie just beyond our comfort zone.

Join us for an evening of authentic, candid stories that celebrate the unpredictable journey we’re all on. You never know what’s coming next!

My Best Advice: The Words That Changed Me

This powerful evening celebrates the Indigenous tradition of sharing knowledge through story. We’ve invited our storytellers to reflect on the words that changed them—wisdom passed down by Elders, teachings from family and community, or lessons found in unexpected places. Whether life-changing, grounding, healing, or even challenging, these words have helped shape identity, purpose, and belonging.

Advice is not just guidance—it’s a thread connecting generations, a tool for survival, and a source of strength. In these stories, we hear how language, land, culture, and community intertwine to inform the choices we make and the people we become.

This event honors the resilience and richness of Indigenous voices. It’s an invitation to listen, learn, and reflect on the truths that have carried others forward—and may do the same for us.

Presented in support of Truth & Reconciliation Day. All profits will be donated to the Native Women’s Resource Centre of Toronto.

You Get Me: Stories of Finding Your People

We’re kicking off Generation Women Calgary with a truth we know in our bones: it takes a village.

Not just to raise a child—but to build a life, recover from heartbreak, launch a dream, or survive the chaos of everyday existence.

Our storytellers are sharing the stories of the people who became their village—the chosen families, unlikely friendships, ride-or-dies, and soul-saving group chats that held them up when it mattered.

Sometimes they found them by accident. Sometimes they created them from scratch. But always, these communities became more than just backup—they became belonging.

This is a night for anyone who’s ever found strength in numbers—and for those still searching, a reminder that your people might be closer than you think.
